Senior Nutrition Program

The Senior Nutrition Program is made up of two programs:  The Congregate Meals Program and the Home Delivered Meals Program.  The Office of Community and Economic Development pays for a portion of the cost of running these programs.  Both programs provide meals for a recommended donation of $3.00 for seniors who are 60 and older; however, no one is turned away for inability to pay.  Guests who are younger than 60 may join their friends and family at a rate of $5.50. Congregate Meals Program

This program gives seniors the opportunity to both receive nutritious meals and also meet other seniors in the community if they choose to do so.  Meals are typically held in locations such as senior centers or churches throughout Washtenaw County.  The frequency of these meals varies depending on the location.

Home Delivered Meals Program

Seniors who are unable to leave their home for any reason and are unable to prepare food at home may receive nutritious meals delivered to their door.  Drivers delivering the meals are usually volunteers.  They not only provide the valuable service of meal delivery, but also are able to check-in on you or a loved one on a regular basis during meal delivery.
