How to Apply for Washtenaw Health Plan

You must apply in person to enroll in WHP Plan B

Enrollment walk-in hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:30a.m. - 11:30a.m.            WHP, 555 Towner Avenue, Ypsilanti, MI 48917; Fax:  (734) 544-6775

Enrollment appointments take place Monday - Thursday from 1:30p.m. - 4:30p.m.  Please call (734) 544-3030 to schedule an appointment.

Do you qualify for Plan B?  Are you:

  • A Washtenaw County Resident:
    • With Low Income (up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Level) click here to see the 2008 Poverty Level Chart.
    • Currently without access to affordable health insurance
    • Not eligible for another insurance program (other than Medicaid Spend-down or Emergency-Only Medicaid
  •  What you need to apply for Plan B:
    • Proof of Income
    • Proof of Residency
    • Information about liquid assets over $5,000 (not including car and/or home)

PLAN A (Closed to new applicants until further notice)

To apply for Plan A (also known as the Adult Benefit Waiver) you must complete an application and submit it either in person or mail to: Department of Human Services, 22 Center Street, Ypsilanti, MI  48198.  Click here for more information on Plan A.
