Don’t Guess…..Soil Test
MSU-Extension in Washtenaw County is making it easy for residents to have their soil tested to determine fertilizer needs for vegetables, flowers, landscape plants, turf and fruit. During four Saturdays in spring: April 5, April 12, April 19 and April 26, soil samples can be dropped off at participating retailers for testing of pH, essential nutrients and organic matter. The purpose of the program is to have gardeners select fertilizers that best suit the needs of their plants to prevent over-applications of fertilizers that wastes money, damages plants and pollutes our water.
